The Music Page
This page is about music in general and the music I like. If you like it too, great!
I play guitar and I like the old school rock from the 70's. That is just the way it is. I think there is more to it than modern rock. Not that there aren't good bands playing modern rock.
The bands/musicians I like are:(in no particular order)
Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aerosmith, Blue Oyster Cult, Deep Purple, The Who, The Allman Brothers Band (check out IdyllWild South, Eat A Peach, The Allman Brothers Band Live At The Fillmore East), ZZTop, Thin Lizzy, George Thorogood And The Destroyers, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Joe Walsh, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, The Pretenders, Elvis Costello, Warren Zevon, Heart, Doobie Brothers, Eric Clapton, Carly Simon, Billy Joel, even REO Speedwagon, Chicago, Billy Cobham, Jeff Beck, Robin Trower, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Steve Miller Band, Cheap Trick, Rod Stewart, Peter Frampton, Blondie, Grand Funk Railroad, The Grateful Dead, The Robert Cray Band, Jeff Healy, The Kinks, The Rolling Stones, Ten Years After, The Yardbirds, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Paul McCartney & Wings, George Harrison, Joe Jackson (he really is good, you ought to check him out. Especially Jumpin' Jive, Steppin Out), Clarence Gatemouth Brown, Van Halen, a little Pat Travers (Crash And Burn, Boom Boom Out Go The Lights), Marshall Tucker Band, Eagles, Harry Belafonte, The Atlanta Rhythm Section, George Benson, Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway, Carol King, George Gershwin, Nat King Cole, Natalie Cole, Louis Armstrong, I'll add more as I think of them.

My Guitar -
I play my guitar almost everyday. I get better and better too. So there is hope for me! I play an Epiphone SG. It is a beautiful guitar, ivory color with black fretboard, pickguard and headstock. It looks a lot like Buck Dharma De Rosier's (Blue Oyster Cult) guitar seen on some older pictures. It has a low growly sound and through a clean Fender amp, (I have a Fender Frontman) but try it through a Fender Twin Reverb, whoooohoooooo! absolutely has a hot sound! The best guitar I have played. Not necessarily the best guitar made, but for me it is perfect. It isn't made of the same wood as the classic Gibson SG's, but it doesn't matter as, like I said, the sound is hot! This is the sound I have been searching for. Put it on clean, turn the volume to 5 or higher ..... mmmmm!!!!!!!! I can also put it on the dirty channel, gain about .75, volume around 5 or higher. Really nice distortion without being ultra distorted. Like modern rock. My little solid state amp sounds pretty much like an underpowered tube amp.
I also like Classical music, especially violin, piano, also Jazz, and blues.
The history of American music -
British Folk begat Bluegrass, American Folk, Country; American Folk music married African Folk Music and begat the Blues; the Blues begat Jazz, then Blues married Country and begat Rock and Roll.
